The White House

Public tours of the White House are available Tuesday through Thursday from 7:30 AM until 11:30 AM and Friday through Saturday from 7:30 AM until 1:30 PM. Tour requests must be submitted a minimum of 21 days in advance and no more than 90 days in advance of the requested tour date(s). (Please note that White House tours may be subject to last-minute cancellation.)

In line with DHS guidance, visitors will be unable to access the White House Complex beginning May 7, 2025, without a valid form of government-issued ID:  a REAL ID or a passport.

Any guest who is unable to present a REAL ID or a valid passport will not be admitted to the White House Complex. Information regarding acceptable forms of ID can be found here.

Capitol

The Capitol Visitor Center is open to visitors from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Saturday. Advanced reservations are required for all staff-led tours.

Library of Congress

The Library of Congress is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday with extended hours of 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Thursdays. The Library is currently not offering guided tours, however roaming volunteers are available throughout the Thomas Jefferson Building to answer questions, give directions, and share stories about the Library’s collections and building.

Free timed-entry tickets are required to enter the Library, and they can be reserved here.

BUREAU OF ENGRAVING & PRINTING

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s Tour and Visitor Center at the Washington, D.C. facility is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM, with the last tour starting at 2:00 PM, and the last Visitor Center entry at 2:45 PM.

The extended Spring and Summer hours, from March through September 2026, are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the last tour starting at 4:00 PM, and the last Visitor Center entry at 4:30 PM.

The Bureau is closed on weekends, federal holidays, and from December 24, 2026, through January 2, 2027.

OTHER SITES

National Gallery of Art

The Gallery is free and open to the public from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily except for Christmas and New Years Day.

The United States Holocaust Memorial and Museum

The Museum is open from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM every day except for Yom Kippur and Christmas Day. Timed tickets are available on their website here.

Smithsonian Museums and Zoo

Washington D.C. is home to many of the Smithsonian Museums as well as the Smithsonian National Zoo. Most museums are open every day except Christmas Day. Information regarding each museum and tickets can be found here.

Other

Washington, D.C., is also home to several other museums including the National Building Museum, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, The Phillips Collection, and the Spy Museum. Tickets for these museums are available on their websites for a fee.
