Scott Votes in Support of Tillerson for Secretary of State

WASHINGTON– U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) released the following statement after voting in support of Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State. Tillerson was confirmed by the Senate 56-43.

“When your first recommendations come from Condoleezza Rice and Robert Gates, that’s very good company. I believe that his career has provided a strong background to serve as U.S. Secretary of State.

We live in a dangerous world, and Mr. Tillerson’s years of experience working with hundreds of nations, their leaders and major industries will be invaluable. As we look to reinstitute a clear, strong American foreign policy, I am pleased to see Rex Tillerson serve as Secretary of State.”
