WASHINGTON — Yesterday, U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) delivered the “charge to the president” at the inauguration of the new Charleston Southern University President Dr. Keith Faulkner. “I am so thankful that as I’ve heard testimony after testimony—from the students who have interacted with you, to your friends who have come to support you—that one thing is completely true: that you are a man with a vision,” said Senator Scott. “Thank God we have a new visionary to lead the Charleston Southern family to new heights. My verse for you, sir, is Ephesians 3:30, ‘That God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or imagine.’ And I pray that we receive a bountiful harvest because you will be asking for things that will be hard for others to imagine because your leadership is a blessing from the Almighty to all of us who claim the Charleston Southern family as ours.”

Senator Scott is a proud graduate of Charleston Southern University.
