Sen. Tim Scott Releases Statement Marking Two Years Since Hamas’ October 7th Terrorist Attack on Israel

WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) today released the following statement marking the two-year anniversary of Hamas’ terrorist attack against the State of Israel on Oct. 7, 2023:

“Two years ago today, the world watched in horror as Hamas terrorists carried out a barbaric and unprovoked attack on Israel.

“In an unspeakable atrocity against humanity, Hamas murdered more than 1,200 innocent civilians, including more than 40 Americans, and took 251 hostages, among them 12 Americans. Thousands more were injured, and families and communities were shattered.

“As we honor the memories of those who were murdered, I commend President Trump’s bold leadership as we work to secure the release of hostages still held captive by Hamas.

“I will continue working to make sure the United States stands firmly with our great friend, Israel, in its fight for the right to exist and to root out antisemitism wherever it rears its ugly head.”
