Senator Scott Announces Details for March 9th Veterans Job and Resource Fair

Charleston, SC – Following the conclusion of a series of workshops throughout South Carolina as part of his Veterans Job Training Initiative, U.S. Senator Scott (R-SC) today announced additional details for the first of two veterans job and resource fairs. The March 9th fair in the Lowcountry is designed to assist veterans in their transition from active military service to the civilian workplace. ??

Held at the North Charleston Convention Center, the fair will include over 80 employers, including Boeing, Nucor, SCANA Energy, MUSC, SPAWAR, Verizon, Sears, Carolina One Real Estate, the County of Charleston and the City of Charleston among others. The Columbia VA also plans to have claims representatives on hand to assist veterans on how to start the claims process and to work through existing claims. ??

Senator Scott is holding the fair in partnership with the City of North Charleston, the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, Columbia Regional VA, the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, SC Works Trident, Operation Palmetto Employment and numerous area partners and veterans service organizations. ??Each fair is free and open to all veterans and their families.

Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their current resume or a list of work experiences.
