“I’m so excited about the second annual opportunity leadership summit. Last year, we did this and we had our interns come together, and this year, demand requires us to open the doors and let more interns in,” said Senator Scott in his welcome video.“Why is that so important? Because interns learn a lot about leadership by meeting with folks like Governor McMaster last year. This year, we’re going to have more interns, more focus on leadership, and more focus on the things that make people like me, Henry McMaster, and so many other leaders possible.”

Background:

Opportunity Leadership Summit attendees heard from Kelly Long, VP of Communication and Corporate Affairs for Rather Outdoors; Al Jenkins, Regional Director for U.S. Senator Tim Scott; Mark Hendrick, Director of Governmental Affairs for the South Carolina Department of Commerce; Nikki Huber, Legislative Director for the Greenville Chamber of Commerce; Bradford Traywick, State Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Tim Scott; and more!

This event builds upon Senator Scott’s personal mission statement and his work in the United States Senate to “positively affect the lives of a billion people” and focused on:

  • Developing a personal brand;
  • Resume building;
