Senator Scott Responds to Voting ‘no’ on Spending Bill

WASHINGTON– U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) released the following statement after voting “no” on the trillion-dollar spending bill passed in the Senate today:

“While the recent budget added billions of dollars to our military budget, border security enhancements, and funded important education resources it fell short in many other areas. We still saw funding for programs that do not make efficient use of federal funds, like continued financial backing for Obamacare. I would have preferred to see a more significant shift in how we spend taxpayer money.”
