Wando Chorus strikes gold at national Disney competition in Florida

Wando High School’s chorus recently won the gold in a AAAA National Choral Competition in Orlando, Florida. The Choir earned a Superior Rating for their performance and received the Best in Class Award for SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Base) Choir.

The Choir earned 299 points out of 300 possible points from the judges for their performance.

“I am incredibly proud of our Wando chorus students,” said Eric Wilkinson, the chorus director. “They worked hard to prepare for our Orlando festival performance and competition. This was a tremendous accomplishment considering all that we have been through in the past two years with the COVID-19 pandemic. This first place finish in a national competition is a testament to our dedicated students and their phenomenal music making skills.”
