Scott Introduces Resolution Celebrating National Charter Schools Week

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), a leading advocate for school choice, introduced a resolution celebrating National Charter Schools Week and commending charter schools for their contributions to education.

“Here in South Carolina and across the country, charter schools enroll more students and serve more communities every year,” said Senator Scott. “The high-quality teaching and innovative approach to education provide a strong foundation for students of all backgrounds.

“I have long believed what the pandemic confirmed for so many American families: when parents lack school choice, children’s education suffers. I am thankful for the important work charter school teachers, leaders, parents, and advocates continue to do in opening more doors to success for the next generation.”

Charter schools continue to expand throughout South Carolina. According to the Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina, 80 schools across the state served nearly 40,000 students in 2020.
